Participants were advised to bring suitable clothing and footwear.

MORNING: The day began with an indoor session featuring presentations by DAFM Forest Health Inspectors on forest health in Ireland, current and emerging threats and the role and responsibilities of the National Plant Protection Organisation, industry and other stakeholders in safeguarding forest health.

AFTERNOON: In the afternoon we had an outdoor session in Lough Key Forest Park to demonstrate and discuss some practical aspects of forest health including bark beetle monitoring and surveillance.
4.00pm – Field Day ended. Leaders: Members of the Forest Health Section (DAFM). The assistance of members of the Forest Health Section (DAFM) and local Coillte staff in organising and hosting this field day is gratefully acknowledged.
